This light is dedicated to the stand and will not mount on any other stand but it must be removed before the stand can be fully folded. Despite being expensive, it did not come with the 3 AA batteries required to operate it. To install the batteries, one must remove a very small phillips screw to remove the battery compartment cover (see photo). This is very easy to lose. The spots for the batteries were not marked for battery polarity (+ or -). A high pitched noise is emitted when the unit is on, which I've never heard from a stand light before. It has 2 levels of brightness. The unit can also be powered by a C style USB cable, but, again, one is not included. The instructions are very brief and cryptic and do not say whether the batteries need to be removed when using the USB C cable. It seems to provide sufficient light to see music, but, again has a very annoying high pitched noise when on. Many people may not be able to hear the noise if they have hearing loss, so that may not be an issue. For me, deal breaker. This product is trying to give the impression of a quality product, but is really cheap junk.
I have several light-weight stand lights that can clip on quickly, provide perfect light, are adjustable for both brightness and location and do not require minutes of turning a screw knob to put it on or take it off. Additionally, they do not emit a high pitched squeal when on. The batteries can also be changed without a tiny phillips screwdriver.
My recommendation? Don't bother.
