I have to take before and after photos for my business, so I wanted a light and tripod setup that looked more professional than jury-rigging lamps and using my own memory for how high each photo is supposed to be. I particularly liked this one because it combines the ring light and tripod in one compact piece.
My first impression was that it's well made and genuinely easy to set up. The auto-open tripod legs deploy with a simple tap on the ground, no fumbling with individual latches, which matters when you're trying to get a shoot started quickly.
One thing to note is how much height range this gives you. It extends up to 76 inches, so I can take photos at eye level for people up to 6'3" and I'm not stuck with one fixed setup. The ring light itself puts out clean, even lighting that's a real step up from overhead room lighting, and makes portraits pop so much more.
One thing I really like is the built-in battery. I can film without hunting for an outlet or running a cord across the floor, which makes it easy to move the whole setup wherever the light or background works best.
The magnetic phone mount is a little weaker than I expected. It holds fine for photos, but I'd be careful moving the tripod around quickly with the phone attached. Not a dealbreaker, just something to be mindful of.
Overall, this has made producing clean, professional-looking photos so much easier. It's portable, it's fast to set up, and the lighting quality genuinely improves my shots. The magnet is a minor thing to watch, but it hasn't caused any real problems for me.
