I got this expansion cage from KraftGeek to use with my DJI Osmo Pocket 4P.
This cage is black and feels well-made with a full aluminum construction. It opens up with a hinge and snaps securely around the handle of your pocket camera using a spring-loaded latch. The interior surfaces have rubber pads all around to protect from scratches and provide a snug, grippy hold.
In total, the cage provides 5 mounting points for various accessories. On the rear and side, you have cold shoe mounts. On the rear and bottom, you have 1/4” threaded mounts. Also on the rear, you have 2 fold-out prongs for action camera claw mounts.
The variety of mounts is great for various customized setups and being able to attach tripods, selfie sticks, lights, mics, a phone adapter for monitoring, etc.
The pocket camera normally uses its own adapter to provide a single 1/4” threaded mount on the bottom.
This cage is superior in that it grips the camera around the handle body, which is more sturdy and better able to support the added accessory weight and forces from moving the camera around. It doesn’t put all the stress on the camera’s screw adapter and its clips, which can tend to develop a mild wiggle.
The cage adds versatility as you can use it with or without the camera’s mount adapter, with an extended battery grip, etc. It obviously also allows for multiple accessories to be attached at once and at different positions.
It is quick and easy to remove as well, as just the one spring-loaded latch will release it along with all attached accessories.
I don’t have any major criticisms of this cage. It’s well-built and does what you expect from it. If you want a more solid type of mount for your camera along with the versatility of being able to add various accessories, this one does a fine job.
