What is NAMTA?
NAMTA stands for The National Art Materials Trade Association is a long-running art and supplies convention that has been going for 74 years! Established on January 4, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois NAMTA is one of the biggest associations in the nation.Quoting their official site "The goal of the founders was to create an official trade association that would work together with organizations and individuals to identify areas for business development and improvement, ensuring the perpetual existence of the industry, while working jointly to achieve and maintain a high level of professionalism and profitability. In 2011, the Board of Directors changed the name of the organization to "Namta – the International Art Materials Association", in order to better reflect the scope of its membership."

Breaking into the Art World
After the official launch of our award-winning music stand at NAMM, KraftGeek ventures onto yet another ambitious take, incorporating our top-notch compactable tripod technologies into another product –– A traveling easel stand.

A Different Take
At KraftGeek we dare to reimagine the status quo and question the norm. We recognize that artists are tired of the studio life. Amidst the pandemic, an explosion of a movement began with more and more young creators taking their studios outdoors. Plein-air painting became a new craze in the traditional art world. Yet there are few to no easel stands that truly meet the needs of traveling painters.
The KraftGeek Easel Stand is a fresh take on a traditional easel. It maintains all the functions of a regular easel stand while allowing the user to adjust the stand to any outdoor environment (yes, uneven surfaces too!). Our stand is also lightweight, making it the perfect choice for an artsy outing. In its fully compact form, there are no extruding pieces that would present a clipping hazard when you reach for it in your bag.
